Description:
CAPE is found in a variety of plants. It is also a component of propolis from honeybee hives.
Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), an active component of propolis from honeybee hives, is known to have antimitogenic, anticarcinogenic, antiinflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties.
Biological Activity
Antioxidant, antimitogenic, anticarcinogenic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral. Specifically inhibits NF-κB activation and inhibits the growth of transformed cells. Also suppresses lipid peroxidation and inhibits ornithine decarboxylase, protein tyrosine kinase and lipoxygenase activities.
